What is Development?
Live Oak School relies on financial contributions to provide funding for up to 10% of the operating budget each year. As it is for all independent schools, support from families, alumni, foundations, and friends of the school, ensures that our programs support the potential and promise of each student.
Ways to Support Live Oak School
Live Oak Fund
The Live Oak Fund raises between $600,000 and $700,000 annually for the school. We count on all parents, trustees, faculty members, and administrators to make a meaningful contribution. Gifts range from $5 to $50,000. Contributions to the Live Oak Fund create exceptional educational experiences for our students. Donations may be directed toward the Adjusted Tuition Program; teacher salaries; professional development; the Technology Access Project; field trips; extracurricular activities including drama and athletics; and the library. In 2016-17, 100% of Live Oak School’s trustees, 100% of Live Oak’s faculty, and 92% of parents made a gift to the Annual Fund.
Live Oak School Endowment
The Live Oak School Endowment was established in 2011 to generate critical ongoing income and ensure a strong education for our children for decades to come. As of July 1, 2017, total contributions to the Endowment had reached $2.4 million. Donations to the Live Oak School Endowment may be undesignated or directed toward the Holly Horton Scholarship Fund or teacher professional development.
Campaigns occur every few years to provide additional financial resources for bold new programs and imaginative spaces.
If you are in a position to give a large gift, your donation will change students’ lives. Major gifts make it possible for Live Oak to create bold new programs and imaginative spaces, and significantly grow the Live Oak School Endowment.
Planned giving provides an opportunity for donors to support Live Oak now and in the future through trusts, bequests, real estate donations, and as the beneficiary of life insurance policies.
Stock and Property
