Development : The generosity of parents, grandparents, alumni, past parents, faculty and staff allows Live Oak to deliver the highest quality education for current and future students.
What is Development?
Development consists of the fundraising events and programs that contribute over 10 percent of Live Oak's total budget. Development programs are essential to the health and growth of independent schools like Live Oak, where the cost of an excellent education cannot be covered by tuition alone. As a non-profit school that receives no financial support from the government or religious institutions, Live Oak could not survive without the contributions of current parents and extended family, alumni and their families, foundations and other friends of the school. Gifts of any amount are gratefully accepted and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Ways to Support Live Oak School
40th Anniversary Campaign for Live Oak School
The 40th Anniversary Campaign for Live Oak School is in its Public Phase. The Campaign has two significant purposes: 1) to build an endowment fund that will allow Live Oak to grow the Holly Horton Scholarship Endowment Fund, expand faculty resources for professional development, to meet opportunities to advance Live Oak’s mission; 2) a facility upgrade that will modify the learning spaces to meet the needs of the students’ learning styles and support the faculty expertise by ensuring our facility supports their instruction. The goal of the campaign is to raise $3.5 million.
Annual Fund
The annual fund provides Live Oak's operating budget with unrestricted funds by soliciting yearly gifts from all members of the Live Oak Community. The 2011-2012 Annual Fund goal is $425,000, with 100% parent participation. The Annual Fund campaign will run simultaneously with the Capital Campaign this year. We are grateful for your participation in both of these campaigns.
Tuition Assistance Fund
Live Oak largest fundraising event -- the annual benefit auction -- supports tuition assistance for Live Oak families. With the participation of the Live Oak community and hundreds of businesses throughout the Bay Area, the 2011 auction, Live Oak! Live, raised $112,000.
Faculty Professional Development Fund
The generous donation of work assessment fee refunds supports faculty professional development in differentiated instruction.
Other Fundraising Events and Programs
