This summer, we’ll be building the promise of our Mariposa Street campus as we complete the final phase of a multi-year project to expand our facilities. The additional space will allow us to make a Live Oak education accessible to twice as many children, broaden the range of perspectives among families, students, faculty, and staff, and enhance the breadth and depth of our academic programs.
Before opening day of the 2018-19 school year, we will have completed construction on 12,000 square feet of space to accommodate 10 new middle school classrooms, a library expansion, new art and music rooms, and multi-use classrooms. We’ll build a new Brainery, a second art room, a second music room, expand the library, and move the stairs from the second to the third floor in order to create a contiguous second floor of classrooms. Last but not least, this final phase of construction includes the building of a playground on our roof.
We are thrilled by the lasting, positive impact that growth will provide for the long-term health and wellbeing of the community and our school.
