Executive Assistant

Live Oak is seeking an Executive Assistant to the Head of School. This position provides a great opportunity to work in a warm, supportive community of colleagues, families and children.

The Executive Assistant serves as the primary administrative support for the Head of School, managing the Head’s calendar, organizing meetings and events, processing and drafting correspondence, desktop publishing, and monitoring and managing incoming phone calls. The Executive Assistant also supports the Board of Trustees, including recording minutes, maintaining records and planning events.

This position provides a wonderful opportunity to grow professionally as responsibilities increase, and to work with a collaborative team of top administrators. Though the position has very limited direct responsibility for students, the Executive Assistant is expected to participate in the fast-paced, often unpredictable, and joyful life of the school.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • High proficiency in MS Word, desktop publishing (In Design preferred), Outlook, Excel and web applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional professionalism and judgment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and interest in interacting with and supporting a range of constituencies, including faculty, trustees, parents, children and outside suppliers
  • Initiative, flexibility, positive nature, and a sense of humor
