Community Garden

garden_dirtJackson Park is the home for our organic garden, which represents a partnership between Live Oak School and the community. Using the garden as a classroom and a gathering space, we offer regular urban farming activities, highlighting the changes we can bring to our local food system and fostering new skills among the diverse populations in Potrero Hill.

The goal of the neighborhood garden is to highlight the connections between food, health and community, and deepen the relationships between these three elements. The garden will give the community a shared interest. It will provide a place for old and young people to be together, outside, working towards a common goal: the health and well being of their bodies and the environment. Currently we are focused on building partnerships with other local schools and are looking for regular volunteers.
