True to Live Oak School’s values, this family gathering is dedicated to service projects that support local organizations such as the Homeless Prenatal Center, the SPCA, the Food Bank and others. Together, we recognize that much can be accomplished by a group of energized volunteers with shared effort.

Camp Live Oak

Camp Live Oak is the most eagerly anticipated event of the year! With the support of faculty, camp staff, and parents, students take on new challenges, from sleeping in cabins with classmates, rock climbing, and a “polar bear swim” to quiet-time journaling, and performing in a talent show.

Book Fair

Visiting author and illustrator events, book-related crafts, and recommendations from our dedicated librarians round out this celebration of reading and literature. The Book Fair invites parents and students to support the library by purchasing books, both for their own reading and as gifts to the school.

Lani Ackerman

Alumni Changemaker 2016, Lani Ackerman, graduated from Live Oak in 2000. Lani’s mission is to improve the experience of immigrants in South America. Her research focuses on the social problems that arise when people are forced to migrate from one country to another and the inequity of the process.

Ben Gucciardi

The 2015 Alumni Changemaker Award went to Ben Gucciardi, class of 1996, for the development of Soccer Without Borders. Ben uses soccer as a vehicle for change, providing youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth and personal success. Jessica London-Shields

Jessica graduated in 2000. In 2014 she won our first Alumni Changemaker Award. Jessica’s organization {she crew} is an arts empowerment program for girls aged 10-14.
