Advancement Associate

BA, University of San Francisco; Teaching Credential

Carli Lowe is excited to return to Live Oak after nine years of adventures both far and near. Born and raised in San Francisco, she received a BA in Philosophy from University of San Francisco, a teaching credential from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI), and National Board Certification. Following two years as a 3rd grade teaching associate at Live Oak, Carli went to teach pre-kindergarten at the International Community School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Upon returning to San Francisco, she taught third grade at Children’s Day School and was proud to receive teaching awards from the Herbst Foundation and People of Color in Independent Schools. Having made the difficult decision to leave the classroom, Carli was thrilled to learn she would be rejoining the Live Oak community. Beginning in the Fall of 2017, she will be spending her evenings studying for her Masters in Library and Information Science, while continuing to pursue interests in writing and samba percussion.
