Karen Olson graduated from UC Davis in 1999 with a B.S in Human Development. She graduated from San Francisco State in 2001 with a MA and credentials in Early Childhood and Mild/Moderate Special Education. Karen’s first full year teaching was a preschool special day class in the East Bay for 3-5 year olds on the autistic spectrum. She then taught for six years as a resource specialist in San Bruno working with students K-6th grade with mild to moderate learning differences. She came to Live Oak in 2009 to provide academic support to a few students in sixth grade and her role has expanded into the Middle School Learning Specialist Position. When she’s away from school Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, taking pilates classes, going to the wine country, exploring the city, and just being out in the sun!   karen_olson@liveoaksf.org
