Kelley earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a focus in journalism and psychology (plus a side job teaching beekeeping). Prior to joining Live Oak, Kelley taught after school nutrition cooking programs with Cooking Matters. This experience shifted her career focus to classroom education, and she completed an Americorps year as a K-5 outdoor science teacher in SFUSD. She completed her Master’s in Education and Teaching through the Bay Area Teacher Training Initiative (BATTI) program, while teaching third grade at Phillips Brooks School. Kelley is passionate about science and emotional wellness, and participates in numerous workshops such as Teachers for Social Justice Conference, Youcubed Mathematical Mindsets, and Culturally Responsive Teaching. In their free time, Kelley will take any excuse to get outside, and enjoys shopping farmer’s markets, gardening, hiking, and rock climbing.
