Keren began her teaching career as a Reading Specialist for K-5 students in South San Francisco School District. When transitioning to classroom teaching she followed her passion for literacy instruction spending 10 years teaching first grade in South San Francisco Unified School District. Prior to teaching in the classroom, Keren taught environmental education to K-5 students at the Environmental Science Center in San Francisco. Keren has also assisted in leading college level environmental field studies program through the Sierra Institute. Keren grew up in the Bay Area, attending UC Santa Cruz for undergraduate studies with a B.A. in American Studies and an emphasis on race and ethnicity. She received her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Francisco State. In her free time, Keren enjoys playing music, spending time with her family, and exploring the city.
