Michelle Andelman

Seventh Grade Humanities Teacher

Before joining Live Oak, Michelle taught ninth grade English at The Harker School in San Jose for three years. She also has experience teaching in early childhood and university classrooms. Michelle grew up in New York City, loving books, movies, and musicals. She majored in Dramatic Writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and later applied her background to working in children’s/YA book publishing for a decade. She loved supporting writers and artists in the creative process; as an educator now, Michelle is passionate about helping students to develop their voices and feel more confident in their self-expression. Michelle’s professional development includes Teaching Foundations and Equity as Excellence. When not at school, Michelle is trying to have all of the fifty “Adventures on Foot” that are mapped out in her pack of San Francisco City Walks cards. michelle_andelman@liveoaksf.org
