Preparing for More Family Affinity Gatherings

With the new year underway, we are eager to continue building our Family Affinity Networks with more opportunities to gather, connect, and celebrate shared culture. The school supports Family Affinity Networks in an effort to help all Live Oak families feel represented and celebrated in the life of the school. These networks help to deepen belonging by giving groups who have not historically been served by independent schools time to connect over their common experiences at Live Oak and in the world at large.
Through the collaborative efforts of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee and the Parent & Guardian Association, this past spring our community celebrated with the affinity groups described below. However, we want to provide opportunities to identify more affinity groups that may not be represented from this past year’s events. Some groups have started scheduling their first affinity gatherings (details are included with each description below). For those that have not yet scheduled events, keep an eye on upcoming dates on the school calendar.

Please fill out the interest survey on the Portal to express your interest in participating with any of Live Oak’s current affinity groups and/or proposing a new affinity group to form.
