Lightning Win All Four Divisions for First Time

The Live cross country team participated in their third race of the season this past Monday at the Polo Field and Hellman Hollow in Golden Gate Park. After a couple more weeks of training, the Live Oak runners impressed by placing first in the team standings in both the 5th/6th and 7th/8th boys and girls divisions for the first time in school history.
The 7th/8th girls were led by Genevieve, Amelia and Emma, who all placed in the top ten and by Lily and Evelyn, who both ran strong races. The 7th/8th boys were led by Tao, Everett and Wheeler who placed first, second, and third overall, respectively, and by Nate and Juli, who also placed in the top ten. Shoshi led the 5th/6th girls by placing first overall, and Isabel, Eve, Chloe, and Sierra all ran strong races to finish in the top ten. Finally, in the 5th/6th boys division, Tavis and Kai R. placed one-two overall and Keshav, Kazu and Kai S. all finished in the top ten.

Many runners improved upon their times from the first meet, and all the runners ran hard during the 1.5 mile course that looped through the Polo FIeld and around Hellman Hollow Meadow. Congratulations to all the runners on a historic showing! Click here to view the full meet results.
