Around the Live Oak World Unites Community

Adrian Takyi, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
One of the core values at Live Oak is knowing students well; that means everyone is able to bring all of themselves, their history, and their identity into our community. In honor of this value, the Parent & Guardian Association and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee put on the third annual Around the Live Oak World, an all school event in appreciation of the rich cultures and family traditions at our school.
Our third annual Around the Live Oak World event in early October was a great event that showcased the wide variety of cultures and traditions within the Live Oak community. The array of global and regional foods, cultural dances and art, hands-on craft making and food preparation, and general display of our diversity made for a one-of-a-kind experience that truly showed what Live Oak is all about.
