Lightning Basketball Hustle Into New Year

In the basketball teams’ busy return to action after Winter Break, the varsity girls defeated Children’s Day School 32-7 as Zoe P. led the team in scoring while the team played tenacious defense throughout. Sarah and Shaila both chipped in to extend the lead in the second half. Read about more recent basketball results.
The varsity girls followed that up with another win as Ella S. and Amelia led the way in scoring, helping the team improve to 5-0 on the season. The team continued to play stellar defense, holding Presidio Hills School to just 8 points for the game.

Justin and Ori led the Boys JV Green in scoring as their contest against CDS was close throughout, but in the end CDS made some timely shots to secure the 23-13 win. The Lightning Boys JV White put forth a valiant effort against a formidable opponent in Gateway earlier this week. Trey, Toby, and Connell led the way in scoring as the team kept the game close throughout, but in the end the Gateway squad put home some clutch shots to secure the win by a 29-18 final. On the boys varsity side, Live Oak played a close game throughout, pulling ahead late to secure the 37-29 win over PHS. Charlie led all scorers with 12 points. The JV girls reached their highest point total of the season behind the scoring of Ailey and Malia. The team played hard throughout and lost a tough overtime game to PHS 31-29, but came out with much to build on.
