Volleyball Teams Earn a Pair of Wins

The Lightning split their four volleyball matches this past week. After a slow start in the first set, the Varsity White Volleyball team struck back behind the strong serving of Hope. Trey got the team going in the second set with a streak of serves to help the Lightning secure the 25-20, 25-16 victory over San Francisco Friends. Lizzie helped rally the Varsity Green to win the first set with some clutch serves. In the third set, Toby and Connell got their serves going to help secure the 25-23, 22-25, 15-6 victory over Friends. The Lightning’s Sixth Grade JV squad took the first set behind the strong passing of Aria and Isla. Maaliyah made some fantastic serves in the third set, but KIPP Bayview pulled ahead at the end to secure the 23-25, 25-20, 16-14 victory in a thrilling match. Finally, Maya and Finn helped the Varsity White push the game to the third set with their strong serving, but in the end the San Francisco School put home a few more points to earn the 25-16, 18-25, 15-8 win.
